The idea of "Houses of Prayer of St. John Paul II" was born on 2 March 2011 in a deep prayer during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Vatican Basilica. Spiritually John Paul II gave Alice Mary Michalin from the Third Order of St. Francis the following words (2 March 2011): "I'm looking for people who would found Houses of Prayer of my name at least 100 houses for the diocese". JPII wants to be the patron and protector of every family of all nations.
The representatives of several prayer groups from Tomaszów Lubelski (Diocese of Zamość-Lubaczów) decided to put these words into practice. On 11 March 2011, they were received by the Diocesan Bishop, Ph.D. Waclaw Depo. The bishop very favorably received the information about the plans for the establishment of "Houses of Prayer of John Paul II". He said with a smile: - "It is a beautiful initiative that needs no money, no contributions". The delegation received detailed information as to the further steps in this direction. At the end of the meeting, the Bishop encouraged to pray in this case and gave all pastoral blessing which opened the way to organize the Houses of Prayer of St. Pope John Paul II for the delegation who came.

To fulfill the tasks, 7-person "Council" was set up. The first day of prayer in the framework of the Statute of the "Houses of Prayer of St. John Paul II, fell on April 16, 2011. This day is considered to be the date of commencement of Houses of Prayer of St. JPII. On March 17, 2013 after consultation with Ph.D. Marian Rojek the next Diocesan Bishop of the Zamość-Lubaczów Diocese Houses of Prayer of St. John Paul II were defined as "Catholic Movement" - the Internet community joining together people from different parishes, dioceses and countries. This formula allows people to actively pursue a secular spiritual heritage of JPII in the global area of the church, including personal responsibility for their faith.

On the ceremony of canonization of JPII (27 April 2014) the Catholic Movement Houses of Prayer of St. JPII after consultation with the Metropolitan Curia of Czestochowa and St. Paul’s publishing house in Czestochowa released the picture in various languages, promoting the Houses of Prayer of St. John Paul II. On February 21, 2014 in the letter according the picture Archbishop Ph. D. Waclaw Depo gave us his pastoral blessing as follows:

"Archbishop gives blessings to all Members of the Movement for the faithfulness in grace: in the name of the Father and of the Son and of

the Holy Spirit. Amen”.
